Holistic Depth

Psychotherapy

An integrative body, mind, soul approach to healing through exploration of the unconscious

Therapy is an invitation to return to wholeness; to acknowledge, accept, and integrate all parts of yourself. Results can bring you into alignment with your authentic self, where thoughts and feelings align with actions that reflect the truth of your inner world. Depth psychotherapy is an exploration of the most important relationship you have; the one with yourself.

Outer circumstances appear so you can work on your inner conflicts, which often appear as painful and persistent patterns and recurring themes, revealing unconscious cycles outside your awareness.  Recognizing these difficulties supports us to imagine a new way forward. You will find that the more you can face your inner world in its entirety, the more the outer world will reflect your new perspective.

In our time together, I will encourage you to explore the parts of yourself that you have repressed, denied, and ignored. This process can uncover your greatest challenges, deepest gifts, and potential for healing.

I value a holistic approach that considers the whole human being, including expressions of the body, mind, and soul, rather than focusing solely on individual symptoms. I recognize the interconnected nature of these parts, knowing that when one is suffering, it affects the whole system. The unity and integration of these aspects can bring a more harmonious and balanced way of living.

What is Depth Psychology?

Depth Psychology recognizes that a significant part of our experience occurs beyond conscious awareness. This unconscious realm holds repressed emotions, memories, instincts, and unresolved conflicts that shape our behavior.

The goal of depth psychotherapy is wholeness; achieved by the ongoing integration of unconscious contents into consciousness, often communicated through symbols, motifs, and archetypes in both waking and dream states.

Engaging in depth psychology goes beyond symptoms and looks for the meaning and purpose behind experiences to explore what you might be learning.

A Body, Mind Soul Approach

BODY

The physical aspect and visible form that encompasses biological structure, including organs, tissues, and blood. The body interacts with the external world through sensory perception; the vessel through which we experience life, sensations, and physical interactions. Many wisdom traditions believe the body goes beyond the physical realm and supports us in accessing our intuitive abilities, wisdom from past experience, and the unconscious.

MIND

The bridge between the physical body and abstract aspects of our being; encompassing thoughts, emotions, perceptions, beliefs, and consciousness. The mind processes information, analyzes, learns, remembers, and experiences feelings and sensations. The mind involves cognitive functions, such as reasoning, memory, imagination, and rational decision-making. While we rely heavily on our minds in the Western world, it is not our ultimate authority.

SOUL

A concept that differs based on religious, spiritual, and esoteric beliefs, yet is often associated with our core or essence; the part that goes beyond the physical body and the mind, and the spark that makes the human experience possible. It is often seen as the seat of one's spiritual identity, essential consciousness, and the source of deeper emotions, desires, and morality. The soul connects us to our higher selves.
